Ingredients

  • 1 lb Brussels sprouts, trimmed, and blanched

  • 2 tbsp olive oil (or avocado oil)

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced (optional)

  • 1 tsp chopped fresh herbs, or dried herbs

  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

  • Garnish: Grated Parmesan cheese, parsley

  • Optional:  tbsp balsamic vinegar or honey for a touch of sweetness

Equipment Needed

  • Baking sheet (for oven method)

  • Air fryer (for air fryer method)

  • Non-stick pan with a lid (for pan method)

  • Mixing bowl

Recipe Options

1. Oven Method

  • Preheat: Heat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  • Season: Toss the Brussels sprouts in olive oil, garlic (if using), herbs, salt, and pepper. Spread them out on the baking sheet.

  • Roast: Bake for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crispy.

  • Finish: Drizzle with balsamic vinegar or honey (optional) and serve warm.

2. Air Fryer Method

  • Preheat: Set your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).

  • Season: Toss the Brussels sprouts in olive oil, garlic, salt, and pepper.

  • Cook: Spread them in a single layer in the air fryer basket and cook for 12-15 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through.

  • Finish: Garnish with Parmesan or red pepper flakes if desired.

Pan Method

  • Heat Oil: Heat 2 tbsp of olive oil in a large non-stick pan over medium-high heat.

  • Sear: Place the Brussels sprouts in the pan and cook for 5 minutes without stirring, until they develop a golden crust. Toss them and make sure they are cooked and most of them have the color changed to brown.

  • Finish: Remove the lid, add balsamic or honey (optional), and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.

Tips

  • Make sure the Brussels sprouts are dry for extra crispiness by putting them on a kitchen towel to absorb extra water before cooking.

  • Add bacon bits or toasted nuts for a crunchy topping.

  • If you like a spicy kick, sprinkle red chili flakes or drizzle with sriracha before serving.
