Chicken Minced Burgers

Chicken Minced Burgers

 Recipe 

Servings: 4 (4 burger patties, 1 burger per person)

Portion Size: 1 burger per serving

Preparation Time: 15-20 minutes (mixing, shaping patties, and prepping toppings)

Cooking Time: 10-12 minutes (pan-frying or grilling, about 5-6 minutes per side)

 

 Ingredients: 

For the Patties 

  •  500g minced chicken 

  • 1 small onion, finely chopped 

  • 2 garlic cloves, minced 

  • 1 small green chili (optional), minced 

  • ¼ cup breadcrumbs 

  • 1 egg 

  • 1 tsp salt 

  • ½ tsp black pepper 

  • ½ tsp paprika or cayenne pepper (optional) 

  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley or cilantro, chopped 

  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce (optional) 

For the Burgers 

  • 4 burger buns, toasted 

  • Lettuce leaves 

  • Tomato slices 

  • Onion rings 

  • Cheese slices (optional) 

  • Condiments of choice (mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard) 

Equipment Needed 

  • Mixing bowl 

  • Grill or skillet 

  • Spatula 

  • Measuring spoons and cups 

Instructions: 

Prepare the Patties 

  • In a mixing bowl, combine minced chicken, chopped onion, garlic, chili, breadcrumbs, egg, salt, black pepper, paprika, parsley, and Worcestershire sauce. 

  • Mix until well combined, but do not over-mix as this can make the patties tough. 

  • Shape the mixture into four equal patties, about ½ inch thick. 

Cook the Patties 

  • Preheat a grill or skillet over medium heat and lightly grease with oil. 

  • Place patties on the grill/skillet and cook for about 5-6 minutes on each side or until fully cooked and golden brown. (Chicken should reach an internal temperature of 165°F or 74°C.) 

Assemble the Burgers 

  • Spread your chosen condiments on the toasted burger buns. 

  • Place a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, add the chicken patty, and top with tomato slices, onion rings, and cheese, if desired. 

  • Cover with the top bun and serve warm. 

Tips 

  • Don't overmix the chicken mince to keep the patties Juicy. Combine everything gently to keep the texture tender. 

  • To boost the flavor and enhance the flavor, marinate the patties for 15-30 minutes in the fridge before cooking. 

  • Healthier Option- Use whole-grain buns, and add fresh veggies for extra fiber and nutrients.
